Where Birds Abound
The fresh water of the Nisqually River flows west from the flanks of Mt. Rainier and meets with the saltwater of the Puget Sound to create the Nisqually Delta, a rich environment that is home to a diversity of fish and wildlife. Created in 1974, the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge has become an important place for wildlife, especially migratory birds. Grab your binoculars and join us for an evening of bird watching as we explore one of Washington's largest estuaries.
