Notes from the Field
Wacky Weather
By, Adrienne
This winter John and I became members of the Stevens Pass Professional Patrol. In a constant effort to gain more skills and knowledge in the field, we decided to take jobs that would allow us to be in the elements skiing, working and learning 7 days a week. The "elements" decided to kick off with a bang this year when we received 50+ inches of snow back in November. Since then, we have received over 250 inches of snowfall! The wacky weather this winter has definitely kept us busy dealing with tons of snow, high winds, freezing rain and the occasional power outage. Some of you may be wondering how we have been dealing with all this crazy weather 7 days a week. As the wind batters our face and we hunker down in our jackets, we simply reflect back on our last run of waist deep powder and thank the elements for all that they provide.
