Intro Climbing Course
Deception Crag's close proximity to Seattle and Tacoma makes it an ideal location for people who are interested in learning how to rock climb or for those who have never climbed outside of a gym. With 20 different climbing walls and over 200 routes, we are sure to find the style of climbing to fit your needs. After a short hike to the base of the crag we will spend some time covering the basics of climbing, such as safety issues, belaying and learning knots. The rest of the day will be spent on practicing techniques used for slab, face and crack climbing.
Location: Deception Crags, King County, Washington. Approximately 40 miles east of Seattle.
Difficulty: Beginner
Introductory Climbing Course: 9am-5pm
Itinerary
9:00-9:30 am meet at Deception Crags parking area sign liability waivers and assign equipment
9:30-10:00 hike to the base of the crags
10:00-12:00 learn the basics of climbing
12:00-12:30 lunch break
12:30-4:30 climb
4:30-5:00 gather up gear and hike back to the parking lot
